Union Road Transport & Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari Tuesday once again garnered attention for his comment against the Centre. While addressing an event in Mumbai, the Union minister was critical of the Narendra Modi-led central government for not taking timely decisions.

"You can make miracles...and the potential is there...My suggestion is the future of Indian infrastructure is very bright. We need to accept good technology, good innovation, good research and successful practices in the world and in the country. We should have alternative materials by which we can reduce costs without compromising on the quality. And time is the most important thing in the construction. Time is the biggest capital. The biggest problem is the government is not taking decisions on time," said the Union Minister.

Time is "more important than technology or resources", he added while addressing NATCON 2022 event in Mumbai, organised by the Association of Consulting Civil Engineers.

The remark comes after BJP, last week dropped Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan from its Parliamentary Board, the party's top decision-making body, and inducted 6 new faces.

The exclusion of Gadkari came as a surprise to many as the Union minister was a former BJP chief and the party had so far refrained from removing its ex-presidents from the decision making process.

On Sunday last week, Gadkari had made a similar comment. While addressing an event of the Laxmanrao Mankar Smriti Sanstha, an educational institution in Nagpur, the Union minister hailed former leaders Atal Bihari Vajpayee, L K Advani and Deendayal Upadhyaya for their work done to help BJP rise to power.

He referred to Mr Vajpayee's speech at the BJP's 1980 conclave in Mumbai. “Atalji had said: Andhera chhatega, sooraj niklega, kamal khilega (The darkness will disappear, the Sun will come out and the lotus (BJP's poll symbol) will bloom) one day," said the minister, as reported by PTI..

“I was there. Everybody who heard that speech believed that such a day will come. Atalji, Advaniji, Deendayal Upadhyaya and many workers did such a work that today we are in power under Modiji’s leadership in the country and and in many states," Gadkari added.

The Central Bureau Of Invstigation has been carrying out raids in Bihar in connection with  Land-For-Railway Jobs Scam. The residence of Rabri Devi's personal secretary Nagmani Yadav is also beeing searched by the investigating agency.
