Govt Making Efforts To Ensure Youth Of Ordinary Families Become Entrepreneurs: PM Modi At Global Patidar Business Summit

Speaking about the Mudra Yojana at the Global Patidar Business Summit, PM Modi said that the scheme is encouraging those people to do business who never even thought of it.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the third Global Patidar Business Summit on Friday and said that the government has been making efforts so that youths of ordinary families can aspire and become entrepreneurs. 

"Since last eight years, government is constanly putting efforts through its policies, its action that such an environment should be created in the country that even the youth of ordinary family become entrepreneurs," he said. 

PM Modi said that we should never forget the words of Sardar Patel who said that India does not lack wealth, we have to just use our minds and resources to use this wealth in best possible way. "Today India has so much. We just have to boost our self-confidence, our spirit of self-reliance. This confidence will come only when there is participation of everyone in the development," he said. 

Speaking about the Mudra Yojana, PM Modi said that the scheme is encouraging those people to do business who never even thought of it.

"Production Linked Incentives has not only made traditional sectors enthusiastic about Make In India but also possibilities in new sectors like semiconductor has also emerged, " he said.

Talking about the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, PM Modi said that "the sector is growing despite Covid-19 pandemic. By providing funds, many MSME units were saved. Local street vendors have been also included in formal banking sector through PM Swanidhi Yojana." He added that the  government has extended the scheme till 2024.

The three-day summit, organised by Sardardham, which will be held from April 29 to May 1 in Surat will cover various aspects of government industrial policy, Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, Start-ups, and innovation among others.

The Prime Minister had earlier tweeted that he would inaugurate the summit and wrote that it is aimed at “encouraging entrepreneurship and value creation among the youth.” The Sardardham is organising GPBS under ‘Mission 2026’ to provide an impetus to the socio-economic development of the Patidar community, as per the Prime Minister’s Office.
