Good News for female commuters of Delhi Metro
New Delhi: Have you been a victim of eve-teasing or ogling during your travel in Delhi metro? I am sure most of the women reading this must have felt uncomfortable at some point or the other because of a dirty stare or an inappropriate touch by a stranger travelling along.
After a string of complaints from different female commuters like being touched in an inappropriate manner during peak hours, ogling and theft; the DMRC has come taken a big initiate in their favor and have deployed an ‘All Woman Internal Combat Group’ for the safety of female passengers.
According to the reports, the team deployed by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), is especially trained to fight multiple opponents in Metro trains, using Pekiti-Tirsia Kali (style specific to Filipino Martial Arts). The group has also been trained to fight strongly built miscreants bare-handedly.
The team full of bold and strong women presented a 20 minute long demonstration of their skills on Tuesday at Connaught Place. This happened in the presence of senior CIFS officials and paramilitary forces.
