Good News! Air India to sell last-minute tickets at over 40% discount; more details here

This decision was taken during a commercial review meeting at Air India headquarters on Friday.

New Delhi: Announcing a massive relief for the last-minute travellers who generally travels due to an emergency is often faced with very high ticket prices, the national carrier Air India on Friday announced that they have decided to sell last-minute tickets at over 40 per cent discount. The company said that such high prices are a deterrent and the national carrier has therefore decided for the domestic sector that “very last moment inventory” ie available seats within 3 hours of departure would be sold at a hefty discount, normally exceeding forty percent of the selling price. This decision was taken during a commercial review meeting at Air India headquarters on Friday. It was also informed that the national carrier will be giving the massive discount only on domestic flights. Tickets can be purchased from all outlets including -
  • Air India Booking Counters,
  • Air India Mobile App,
  • Air India website
  • Travel Agents.
This rare decision, as otherwise in the aviation sector prices increase steeply closer to the departure, will be a big boon to the last minute travellers. Generally, customers are forced to shell out over 40 percent or more for the last-minute bookings over the average fares. However, in case of a demand-supply mismatch following the grounding of Jet Airways, the difference is much higher normally, an airline official said.
