GoAir Plane En Route To Delhi Stopped At Srinagar Airport After Bomb Call

New Delhi: Following a telephone call warning about a bomb inside the aircraft, a GoAir flight, which was planned to go to Delhi, has been halted in Srinagar on Monday, officials said.

The GoAir flight, which was planned to get back to Delhi, was halted at the Srinagar air terminal after a supervisor of another private carrier got the call about a bomb on the plane, the authorities said.

They said the call has been followed to Delhi and the number is turned off from that point forward.

Police are examining the matter, Kumar said adding that air terminal activities are continuing without a hitch.

There is a lot of tourists visiting Srinagar during the summer season. Officials said that the Srinagar airport this Monday (April 12, 2022) recorded the highest number of passengers per day at around 15,200, with 7,305 arrivals. The influx of tourists escaping the heat has increased the number of flights to Kashmir's only civilian airport.

Prior to this, the number of flights is increasing continuously in the last two weeks. The airport recorded its busiest day in terms of passengers on March 29, when 15,014 persons traveled through the airport.
