"The above appointments will take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices," President Office added.

If reports are to be believed, it is said that Satyapal Malik shared tense terms with Goa Chief Minister as the Governor had raised the issue of Covid mismanagement, and also raised objections on the state government's decision to construct a new Raj Bhavan.

It is to be noted that Malik was appointed as the Governor of Goa on October 25, 2019. Before that he was the Governor of Jammu & Kashmir but was appointed as Goa Governor months after Article 370 was scrapped bifurcating the states into two union territories. Malik was Governor of Jammu & Kashmir from August 2018 to October 2019.
