Coronavirus India: India on Tuesday recorded over 55000 fresh Covid-19 cases and 876 deaths in the last 24 hours, adding another lakh to its overall tally. The overall positive cases count in India has now crossed 27-lakh. As per the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, a spike of 55,079 cases and 876 deaths reported in India, in the last 24 hours. Earlier, Ministry of health highlighted a new peak was achieved in testing in last 24 hours with 8.9 lakh tests. It highlighted that despite suchhigh testing, the p[positivity count in ;ast 24 hours was as low as 8.81%. “A new peak of 8.97 lakh Covid-19 tests done in the last 24 hours. Even with such a high level of testing, the positivity has remained low, 8.81% compared to the weekly national average, 8.84%”, said the Ministry of Health. A look at India’s recovery rate: India’s recovery rate raced beyond 72% on Monday, the day record recoveries were registered. India reported highest ever single day COVID-19 recoveries of 57,584 patients, the ministry of health said.
