The police say that Bajrangi had an argument over 'supari' (contract killing) with Rathi after which the latter killed him. This has come to the fore but it is being verified.
The prisons administration department wrote a letter to the home ministry to shift Sunil Rathi to another jail. Munna Bajrangi who was shot at seven times was killed in the Baghpat district jail by his a co-prisoner Sunil Rathi.
A co-prisoner Vicky Sunehra came forward as the witness in the case said that both Rathi and Bajrangi had an argument when they were at the Baghpat district jail premise and the shots were fired at as early as 6:30 am. Vicky Sunehra and Munna Bajrangi were in the same cell a day before the incident happened.
On Wednesday, the postmortem examination report of Bajrangi revealed that he was shot at seven times by jail inmate Sunil Rathi and one of the bullets had hit Bajrangi's head. A portion of his head was badly mutilated on the right side.
A pistol, two magazines and 22 cartridges were later recovered from a drain inside the jail.
