Kolkata: Former Trinamool MLA Sonali Guha who had joined the Bhartiya Janata party during the West Bengal 2021 assembly elections has written an open letter Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Sonali Guha has apologised to Mamata Banerjee in her open letter and said that she took the wrong decision of joining BJP after being emotional. “The way fish cannot live without water, I will not be able to live without you, Didi.”
Guha shared her letter on social media and said,"I apologize, forgive me. Give me a chance to be with you for the rest of my life."
Sonali also alleged in her letter that she was asked by the BJP to speak up against Mamata Banerjee which was not possible for her.
Note that Sonali Guha is a four-time MLA of Satgachhia. When TMC did not give her a ticket in the 2021 election, she expressed her anger by quitting the party and joining the opposition BJP.
She further claimed that when BJP did not allow her to join the campaigns she felt suffocated in the party and that is when she realised her biggest mistake.
Sonali Guha, once known as Mamata Banerjee's shadow, picked up the lotus flag at the BJP's election office in Hastings on March 8. Mamata Banerjee has become the chief minister of Bengal for the third time as TMC won the elections with a landslide victory and Sonali Guha appealed to Mamata Banerjee to return home.
