ED Raids In Money Laundering Case: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided three places over connections with Maharashtra Transport Minister and Shiv Sena leader Anil Parab. The raids were conducted over a money laundering case involving former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh.

The Enforcement Directorate has summoned Anil Parab to appear for questioning on Tuesday in connection with the money laundering case involving Anil Deshmukh and others. On which, Shiv Sena said, the party will resolve the matter legally and indicated that the summons have a connection with the arrest of Union minister and BJP leader Narayan Rane in Ratnagiri.
Anil Parab, 56, a parliamentary affairs minister in the Mahavikas Aghadi government, led by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, is a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Council. At the agency's office in South Mumbai on Tuesday, Officials said that the ED has asked Parab to be present before the investigating officer.
Officials added that Parab will be questioned in connection to the money laundering case against former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh as some disclosures have been made by other accused and those involved in the case.

On Sunday, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that the notice given by the central agency to Parab is "as expected" and the party will fight it legally.
Raut tweeted, "Excellent, as soon as the Jan Ashirvad Yatra ended, Anil Parab was sent a notice 'as expected' by the ED. The Central Government started their work. Ratnagiri was the epicentre. Parab is the Minister in charge of the district. Please understand the chronology. We will fight this legally. Jai Maharashtra".
Recently, Union minister and BJP leader Narayan Rane was arrested from Ratnagiri for making alleged derogatory remarks against Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray made during the Jan Ashirvad Yatra.
The ED had registered a case against Anil Deshmukh and others after the CBI registered a case in connection with the alleged corruption case involving former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh's Rs 100 crore bribery charges. Deshmukh was then the Home Minister in the Mahavikas Aghadi government.
Deshmukh, who had not appeared even after being sent five summons by the ED, had claimed that Parambir Singh made allegations against him for being removed from the post of Mumbai Police Commissioner.
The ED has recorded two statements of jailed police officer, case accused Sachin Waze and the agency may now question Parab regarding this. Waze was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connection with the discovery of an explosive-laden vehicle, outside billionaire Mukesh Ambani's Mumbai home.
Waze had earlier alleged in a letter that Parab had asked him in January 2021 to investigate "fraudulent" contractors listed in the Mumbai municipal body and collect at least Rs 2 crore from them. Waze had demanded that the letter be produced before the court. Parab rejecting Waze's allegations and said that he was ready for probe into the allegations.
Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole said BJP is misusing ED and CBI. "Whatever it is, it should come to the fore, but again and again they (BJP) get raids done only on the opposition leaders. He questioned whether there are no corrupt people in BJP on whom ED can raid.
