New Delhi: An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama on Saturday morning. The incident took place in Tikun village in South Kashmir.The security forces gunned down two terrorists. The officials have also recovered incriminating materials including arms and ammunition from the site of encounter.


The terrorists were killed by the joint team of ADGP's 55RR, 180/183 BN CRPF & SOG cordoned-off the area. Meanwhile, the massive search operation is underway.

As per reports, forces suspects spot the hiding terrorists fired upon security forces triggering an encounter.

This comes a day after a Pakistani Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militant was killed in an encounter with security forces in Tral area of Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district on Friday.

Security forces had launched a cordon and search operation in Dar-Ganiegund area of Tral following inputs about the presence of militants there, a police spokesman said.

He said the search operation turned into an encounter when the ultras opened fire on the security forces, who retaliated.

One JeM militant, was killed in the gunbattle, the spokesman said, adding that a policeman also suffered minor injuries during the operation.
