New Delhi: Eid Ul-Fitr celebrations began in the country on Saturday with offering of Namaz and exchange of sweets and hugs. The festival has come as a ray of hope and peace in the hearts of millions of people.

Eid Ul-Fitr or Eid marks the end of the holy month of Ramzan when Muslims all around the world fast for a month. It is a blend of harmony amongst different religion where people come together to celebrate this day with full zest.

Different places have their own own tradition of celebrating this much awaited festival. Orthodox Muslims or not, everyone offers their prayers (Namaz) at the mosque and even a sight is nothing less than a spectacle.

People hug their differences out and enjoy a feast together. Children and youngsters eagerly wait for their ‘Eidi’ which is a gift from the elders on this holy occasion.

One thing that immediately comes to the mind as one hears ‘Eid’ is the food. Food acts as a unifying factor amongst people of different cultures and this festival just does the same. Different houses have different styles but the sweetness that sewaiyan carries is not mererly the sweetness of ingredients but also the sweetness of affection with which it is made. Biryani remains another delicacy hugely looked forward to on this occasion. People visit their friends, sit together, talk and enjoy the varieties of delicacies together.

Bollywood does not fail to impress on this occasion as well. This festival is also marked by an ‘Eidi’ from the biggest star of Bollywood, Salman Khan, who releases his film on this very occasion every year. This year, he came with his film Race 3. Fans got to see a collaboration of Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan which is also a treat for them.
