New Delhi: Two people lost their lives while three others were injured after the roof of a house collapsed in Harsh Vihar near Dwarka. The incident took place at around 1 am last night on Monday. This comes within a day after Ghaziabad building collapsed where two people, including an eight-year-old, were killed and several were injured. Also, a few days before that, a twin buildings in Greater Noida collapsed in Shahberi village, claiming nine lives including that of a toddler and two women. Meanwhile, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered an inquiry into the incident where the building collapsed in Ghaziabad. A magisterial probe has also been initiated into the collapse of the illegal structure in the Akash Nagar area. The police reportedly said the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel were pressed into service soon after the incident and rescue and search operations were underway.

District Magistrate Ritu Maheshwari said the building was being constructed illegally. Adityanath has asked the district authorities to register an FIR and take action against the guilty. Local MP and Minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh also reached the spot and took stock of the rescue operation.
