Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday exetended greetings to the nation on the occasion of Diwali wishing joy and prosperity for everyone. "Wishing everyone a Happy Diwali! May this special festival bring joy, prosperity and wonderful health to everyone’s lives," Modi said in a post on X.

  


President Droupadi Murmu also greeted the nation on Diwali and urged to celebrate the festival safely and taking care of the environment. "The festival of Deepawali illuminates our conscience and inspires us to work for welfare of humanity," the President said. 


"One lamp can light up many others. In the same manner, we can bring happiness and prosperity in the lives of the poor and needy by sharing our joys with them," she added.










"Let us all celebrate the festival of lights safely and take pledge for nation building by contributing in the conservation of environment," urged President Murmu. 


Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath too greeted the people of the state on the festival of lights.  


Taking to X, the CM wrote: "Hearty congratulations and best wishes to the people of the state on the great festival of Diwali, the victory of truth over untruth, virtue over oppression, light over darkness! With the blessings of Lord Shri Ram and Mata Janaki, may this holy festival illuminate the lives of all of you with the white light of happiness, prosperity, good fortune and health." 






Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar urged the citizens to celebrate the festival with mutual harmony and joy. 







"Hearty congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of the festival of lights, Diwali. Diwali symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance and good over evil. Celebrate Diwali with mutual harmony, harmony and joy," Kumar wrote in a post on X.
