'If Dhiraj Sahu Joins BJP...': Shiv Sena's Dig At Saffron Party Over Odisha I-T Raid Against Congress MP

Congress MP Dhiraj Sahu has landed at the centre of a political storm after the Income Tax sleuths seized more than Rs 200 crore from the premises of a firm allegedly linked to him and his family.

Following the Income-Tax Department recovering over Rs 200 crore from the premises of a firm linked to Congress MP Dhiraj Sahu and his family, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi hit out at the BJP and made a jibe that he would get a clean chit if he joined the saffron party. Her comments come amid BJP leaders intensifying their attack on the Congress for not answering for Sahu's "crime". Union minister Ashwini Choubey even said that he should be expelled from Congress.

The Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena faction's MP Priyanka Chaturvedi told news agency ANI that the nation has seen a scam of Rs 70,000 crore in Maharashtra and as soon as the accused in that case joined BJP, everyone forgot about it.

The Union Minister said that the nation won't forgive the Congress for defending Sahu.

BJP MP K Laxman asked why Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi are quiet on this issue. He further said that PM Modi will not leave the corrupt, as reported by ANI.

The I-T department raided multiple locations associated with Sahu in Odisha and Jharkhand on Wednesday and recovered cash worth over Rs 200 crore, reported news agency PTI.
