New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah took the salute of Delhi Police’s Raising Day Parade in Delhi on Wednesday. After the parade, he addressed the people and said Delhi Police should prepare a roadmap for the next five years and also for 25 years with well-defined goals.





Shah presented medals to the Delhi Police personnel as the day marks the platinum jubilee of the Raising day. During the event, he also released special postage stamps to commemorate the 75 years of foundation of the Delhi Police. 


While addressing the people, Shah said, “I congratulate Delhi Police for the role it played during the COVID pandemic and the Delhi riots, particularly for fairly and strictly investigating the riots.”


He added, “Delhi Police not only did an exceptional job during the COVID pandemic that is an inspiration for police jawans across the country but it also thwarted several terror incidents during this period.”


Shah also paid tribute to 79 Delhi police personnel who lost their lives during the covid-19 pandemic in the last two years.


He added that the Delhi police were founded by the initiative of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel and thence the Delhi police have been working with the principles of ‘Shanti’, ‘Seva’, and ‘Nyay’.


Before the event, Shah also tweeted his greetings on the occasion. He wrote: “Greetings to all the personnel of Delhi Police and their families on the 75th Raising Day. @DelhiPolice Along with being one of the most accomplished police forces in the country, it is also synonymous with humanity and service, which the country realized in the difficult times of Corona. Every Delhiite is proud of Delhi Police.”
