New Delhi: Police in Delhi have detained a guy on suspicion of molestation after he reportedly used a false Instagram account to upload private images of a minor girl from Pune.
The accused is a resident of Mayur Vihar in New Delhi, according to the police. According to a press release published on Wednesday, a person made contact with a juvenile girl from Pune using social media sites. He then obtained her personal and private images and used a false Instagram account to publicly defame and molest her.

The father of the girl filed a report with the cyber police station. The accused has been charged under the Indian Penal Code, the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, and the Information Technology Act.
A police investigation has been launched into the situation, conducted by Senior Inspector D S Hake. The false account was subjected to a technological study by police, who determined that the perpetrator was based in Delhi.
On July 5, a squad went to Delhi and apprehended the individual, according to police. He was taken to Pune and arraigned in front of a special court for POCSO cases. The accused was detained in police custody until July 12 for additional investigation by the court. The cyber police station has warned the general public, particularly youngsters, to be wary of anybody attempting to contact them via social media.
