New Delhi: In view of the decline in Covid-19 cases, the Delhi government has decided to lift all Covid-related restrictions imposed in the national capital from Monday.
It is, however, emphasized that wearing of masks, maintaining social distancing, hand hygiene and ventilation in closed spaces shall continue to be enforced at all places.
“All District Magistrates, District DCPs and other authorities concerned shall focus on strategic areas of intervention i.e. Containment, Test, Track, Surveillance, Clinical Management, Vaccination as well as strict compliance of CAB in their respective jurisdiction,” said the order signed by Delhi Chief Secretary Vijay Dev, ANI reported.
“The concerned authorities shall take strict action against the defaulting persons as per the applicable laws and rules, including closure of defaulting establishments/ business premises/ weekly markets/ exhibitions/gatherings etc. as per requirement,” the order added.

The order further said the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD), shall issue necessary orders for reducing fine from Rs 2,000 to Rs 500 per offence in respect of Covid Appropriate Behaviour related violation (i.e. wearing of face mask/cover, maintaining of social distancing, prohibition of spitting in public places etc).
“In case any person is found violating the aforesaid instructions, the defaulting person(s) shall be proceeded against as per the provisions of Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, Section 188 of IPC and other applicable laws,” the order added.
This was decided in the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) meeting, which was chaired by Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal to review the Covid-19 situation.
