New Delhi: India on Saturday reported 11,499 fresh COVID-19 cases, 23,598 recoveries, and 255 deaths in the last 24 hours.


The new coronavirus infections, took the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,29,05,844, while the active cases dipped to 1,21,881.


According to the Union Health Ministry data, the death toll climbed to 5,13,481 with 255 fresh fatalities.


The daily COVID-19 cases have remained below one lakh for 20 consecutive days.


The active cases comprise 0.28 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate is at 98.52 per cent.

The daily positivity rate was recorded as 1.01 per cent while the weekly positivity rate was recorded as 1.36 per cent.


The number of people who have recuperated from COVID-19 increased to 4,22,70,482.


The cumulative vaccine doses administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive exceeded 177 crores.


Coronavirus Cases In Kerala, Maharashtra, Delhi


Kerala reported 3,581 new cases of COVID-19 and 177 deaths on Friday and took the total to 64,91,418 and 64,980 respectively so far.


Of the deaths, six were reported in the last 24 hours, 43 occurred in the last few days but were not recorded due to late receipt of documents; 128 were designated as COVID-19 deaths after receiving appeals based on the new guidelines of the Centre and the directions of the Supreme Court, the Health Department said.

"Currently, there are 37,239 active COVID-19 cases out of which only seven per cent are admitted to hospitals," the release said.

A total of 7,837 people recuperated and took the number of cured to 63,88,398.


On the other hand, Maharashtra on Friday reported 973 new coronavirus cases including 62 Omicron infections and 12 pandemic-related deaths.


The state's coronavirus caseload rose to 78,63,623, and death toll reached 1,43,687.


Of 62 new Omicron infections, 60 were from Pune city and two from the Pune rural area.


So far, 4,629 Omicron infections have been reported in the state, of which 4,456 patients have recovered.


There are now 8,668 active COVID-19 cases in the states, lowest since December 25, 2021, when the active case tally stood at 9,102.

Mumbai on Friday recorded 128 new cases, while Pune reported 206 infections. Both the cities did not report any fatality.


Meanwhile, Delhi on Friday reported 460 fresh COVID-19 cases and two deaths due to the disease, while the positivity rate dropped to 0.81 per cent, according to data shared by the city health department.


With this, the national capital's infection tally increased to 18,58,614 and the death toll climbed to 26,117.


The number of daily cases in Delhi has been on the decline after touching the record high of 28,867 on January 13.
