New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday said that India is among the top 25 defence products exporting nations, according to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute 2020 report.


"I am happy to inform you that as per Stockholm International Peace Research Institute 2020 report, for the first time India is among the top 25 defence products exporting countries list," Singh said according to ANI.

He said this while addressing while attending an event of Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSU).


Defence exports mean an increase in our capability, calibre, standard. To promote export of defence items & to make India part of the global defence supply chain we've set a target of Rs 35,000 crores export in aerospace & defence good-services by 2024-25, he further said. 


He is on a two-day visit to Bengaluru where he will visit DPSU facilities to review their progress and attend meetings. 


Founded in 1966, Stockholm International Peace Research Institute or SIPRI provides data, analysis and recommendations for armed conflict, military expenditure and arms trade as well as disarmament and arms control. The research is based on open sources and is directed to decision-makers, researchers, media and the interested public.
