Kalahandi, Odisha: After the shocking incident of Dana Majhi who carried his dead wife's body for 10 kms in Odisha's Kalahandi district, another tragic incident has surfaced in the state where daughters had to dismantle the roof of their home to collect wood for their mother's funeral.
As per reports, Kanak Satpathy, a 75-year-old woman, died after a prolonged illness on Friday night. Following her death, her daughters pleaded with villagers to help them cremate their mother, but to no avail.
After waiting for hours, the daughters placed the body of their mother on a woven cot and started marching towards the cremation ground.
With no wood for the funeral pyre, they dismantled the roof of their home and used it for the cremation.
The shocking and moving picture of the incident has been creating a buzz and has raised several eyebrows.
