Officials on Monday reported that a number of areas in Mizoram were struck by super cyclone 'Mocha', resulting in damage to 236 houses and eight refugee camps. According to reports, the forceful winds that occurred on Sunday caused damage to over 50 villages and impacted a total of 5,749 individuals. Despite the incident, there were no recorded deaths, news agency PTI reported.
Meanwhile, in the city of Kolkata, located in West Bengal, experienced intense rainfall following the arrival of the formidable cyclone named 'Mocha', which landed near the coasts of Bangladesh and Myanmar on Sunday, ANI reported.

On Sunday, a powerful cyclone, named 'Mocha', hit the coasts of Myanmar and Bangladesh. As it grew into a Category-5 storm, it caused significant harm to the southeastern coast and compelled around 500,000 people living in low-lying regions to evacuate, PTI reported.
According to officials, out of the total of 236 houses, 27 were devastated completely, and 127 sustained partial damage.

According to reports, Siaha district, situated in the southern region of Mizoram and bordering Myanmar, experienced the most severe impact, resulting in damage to 101 residential buildings, including two relief camps.
The Teknaf coast witnessed the arrival of the powerful cyclone, which subsequently crossed the Naf River that serves as the boundary between Bangladesh and Myanmar.

According to Myanmar's Meteorological Department, Mocha arrived at Sittwe township with wind speeds reaching 209 kilometers (130 miles) per hour. The India Meteorological Department reported that the tropical depression had lost its strength and become weaker by Monday noon.
