The Maha Vikas Aghadi leaders are contemplating the formation of a committee that would comprise of two members from each of its parties to finalize candidates for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, as disclosed by Ajit Pawar, a leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), on Monday, news agency PTI reported.
The MVA, consisting of the NCP, Congress, and Shiv Sena (UBT), has been motivated by the BJP's loss in the Karnataka Assembly polls and is now poised to jointly contest against the ruling party in Maharashtra during the upcoming national elections.
“Each party will perhaps nominate two leaders to discuss Lok Sabha candidates. The three main parties will hold talks on a seat-sharing formula,” Pawar was quoted by PTI in its report.

He addressed media regarding a gathering of significant members of MVA held at Sharad Pawar's residence on Sunday, which incorporated Uddhav Thackeray, Sanjay Raut from Shiv Sena (UBT), and Ashok Chavan and Naseem Khan from Congress.
In the state, the BJP emerged victorious in 23 out of 48 Lok Sabha seats during the 2019 elections, while the previously united Shiv Sena secured 18 seats. The NCP emerged victorious in four seats while the Congress managed to secure only one.
He stated that during the meeting, they reached an agreement on the locations for holding ‘Vajramooth’ rallies by MVA. Furthermore, he mentioned that there are speculations that Lok Sabha elections and state polls might happen simultaneously.
According to the NCP state leader Jayant Patil, the 'Vajramooth' rallies of MVA have been suspended temporarily and will recommence when the intensity of summer diminishes.
The recently concluded Karnataka elections saw the Congress securing 135 out of 224 seats, with the ruling BJP and Janata Dal (Secular) led by former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda securing 66 and 19 seats respectively.
