After being found to be infected with novel Coronavirus on Monday, Former President Pranab Mukherjee later today underwent a successful brain surgery for the removal of clot at Army's Research and Referral Hospital in Delhi.

As per the latest development, the doctors have kept Pranab Mukherjee currently on ventilator support at the Army's Research and Referral Hospital in Delhi. Early reports have mentioned that he in under close monitoring in the hospital.

An eminent politician spanning a five decade long career, he served as the 13th President of India from 2012 until 2017.

Earlier today, the 84-year-old in his Twitter post announced that he has contracted the novel Coronavirus. He urged the people who came in contact with him in last week to self-isolate and get tested subsequently.

"On a visit to the hospital for a separate procedure, I have tested positive for Covid-19 today. I request the people who came in contact with me in the last week, to please self isolate and get tested for Covid-19," the former President tweeted.

Upon acknowledging the health condition of 13th President of India, people from all walks of life started wishing for his speedy recovery. Several ministers and leaders including Randeep Surjewala, Rahul Gandhi, Ramvilas Paswan, Former Union minister Milind Deora, Delhi Congress chief Chaudhary Anil Kumar and several other leaders extended wishes for the speedy recovery of Mukherjee.

A Hindustan Times report stated that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh even visited the Army's R&R Hospital to inquire about Mukherjee's health. Singh reportedly spent 20 minutes there before leaving from the hospital .
