India logged less than a thousand Covid-19 cases on Monday while 1,815 recoveries were made. The active caseload stood at 14,493, as per the data of the Ministry of Health Affairs. The death toll on Sunday was recorded at 5,31,770 and the active cases comprised 0.03 per cent of the total infections with the recovery rate being at 98.78 per cent.


The nation takes a breather as the cases dip below the thousand mark.

The number of people who had recuperated from the disease till Sunday surged to 4,44,33,389 and the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.18 per cent.  According to the ministry's website, 220.66 crore doses of Covid vaccine had been administered in the country till yesterday under the nationwide vaccination drive. India on Saturday logged 1,223 Covid infections in the last 24 hours while active cases dipped to 16,498 from 18,009.

Delhi Logged 26 Fresh Cases On Sunday


Delhi on Sunday recorded 26 fresh COVID-19 cases with the positivity rate standing at 1.49 per cent, according to data shared by the city government's health department. The case tally climbed up to 20,40,447. The death toll remained stagnant at 26,651.


The fresh cases emerged from 1,750 tests conducted the previous day, according to Sunday's bulletin.

The number of daily cases in Delhi had dropped to zero on January 16 for the first time since the outbreak of the pandemic. However, the national capital witnessed a spurt in cases last month.


On April 11, mock drills were conducted in Delhi hospitals to ascertain their preparedness to deal with any eventuality.
