18,000 New Covid Cases In Maharashtra
Significantly, Covid-19 seems to be spreading at a rapid rate in Maharashtra. More than 18,000 new Corona cases have been reported here in the last 24 hours, while 20 people have succumbed to the virus.
According to the health department, more than 39,000 patients are home quarantined in the state while more than 11,000 patients are hospitalized and are undergoing treatment.
While in Maharashtra, cases of the new Corona variant Omicron are also on the rise. The number of patients infected with Omicron has gone up to 653 which is highest in comparison to other states.
And so with the increasing numbers of Corona and Omicron cases, there is also an increased possibility of imposing a lockdown under strict restrictions.
