"With 43 more people testing positive for Covid-19, total cases have risen to 847 in Rajasthan," State Health Department said in a statement.
In the new cases reported, 20 have been reported from Jaipur, 11 from Bharatpur, 7 from Jodhpur, 3 from Dausa and one each from Jhalawar and Banswara. Recently, the lockdown was extended in the state till April 30.
The state government has also made wearing face masks mandatory for people in urban areas as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
In another important development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation at 10 AM on April 14, the last day of the ongoing nationwide Covid-19 lockdown.
During a meeting last week, several Chief Ministers had suggested to the Central government that an extension of the lockdown may be necessary as the country continues to witness a spike in coronavirus cases.
India's tally of positive Covid-19 cases rose to 9,152 following an increase of 796 cases in the last 24 hours, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Monday.
