There appear to be no signs of Coronavirus curve turning flat as there have been 357 deaths due to the contagious disease in the last 24 hours. This is the first time the death toll has crossed 350 in a day. At the same time, a record 9,996 new cases have also been registered.


The most active cases are in Maharashtra where more than 46 thousand infected people are being treated in hospitals. As per the latest updates, the state recorded new highs on the Covid-19 dashboard - 152 deaths and 3,607 new cases.

Of these, state capital Mumbai has registered the most numbers. Municipal Corporation Greater Mumbai reported that the financial capital recorded as many as 97 deaths and 1540 new positive cases of COVID-19. The total number of positive cases in Mumbai is now 53,985

After this, Delhi is at number two. The number of deaths due to coronavirus in Delhi is rising steadily. As per the latest reports, the National capital has reported 65 deaths due to COVID-19 in 24 hours. With this, the death toll in Delhi has climbed to 1085.

Among the people who succumbed today included Sanjay Sharma, a Bharatiya Janata Party leader of the Delhi unit of the party. Sharma was the chairman of a party committee in Delhi and was involved in social work to provide relief to the needy in the city during the lockdown. He was infected with the coronavirus and died on Thursday during treatment.

Meanwhile, in the same time frame, 1877 cases of the novel coronavirus have been reported, taking the number of COVID-19 cases in Delhi to be at 34,687, including 20,871 active cases and 12,731 recovered. Questions are also being raised about the health infrastructure in the city. Many people have accused the hospitals of not admitting patients in spite of the claim of sufficient beds.
