India has been adding nearly 10,000 cases daily in its Covid-19 tally since last four days. After Friday's Covid-19 report which will be released by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India is most likely overtake UK.
The total number of Coronavirus cases in India has reached 2,86,579 on Thursday, while the death toll of the country escalated to 8,102 cases. The United Kingdom has 290,147 total cases, but its daily rise in cases has been near 1000.
On Thursday UK recorded 1003 new cases as against India’s whopping 9996 fresh cases.
However in terms if deaths, India is far behind the US. As many as 8,102 people have died of Coronavirus in India, which is far behind UK’s tally of 41,128 deaths.
Worldometers ranking:
As per the list of Covid hit countries by Worldometers, India has already surpassed UK in the race. It has reported India’s total tally to be 298,283 and the death toll to be 8,501, while it has put UK’s tally at 291,409 and deaths at 41,279.
No Community Transmission In India:
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday afternoon, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Director General Balram Bhargava said that "India is not in community transmission. However, we have to continue with our strategy of testing, tracing, tracking, quarantine and containment measures
