Coronavirus India latest news: Coronavirus cases in India witnessed yet another massive spike in its daily cases, pushing the overall tally beyond the 22-lakh mark. A single-day spike as high as 62,064 was recorded on Monday and over thousand deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours. The overall Covid-19 tally rose to 22,15,075 including 6,34,945  active cases, 15,35,744 cured/discharged/migrated & 44,386 deaths, the Union Ministry of  Health and Family welfare stated.

Total testing in India:

The total number of Covid-19 samples tested up to 9th August is 2,45,83,558 including 4,77,023 samples tested yesterday,  Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has said.

Recovery rate & fatality rate:

Recovery Rate: 69.33%

Fatality Rate: 2%

As per Ministry of Health and Family Welfare the recovery rate has improved further to 69.33% as the number of Cured/Discharged/Migrated patients stood at 1,535,743. India has 28.66% active cases( 634,945 and 2.00% deaths (44,386).

Recovered cases cross 1.5 million historic peak:

India's Covid-19  recoveries crossed the historic peak of 1.5 million.

Taking to Twitter, the Union Health Ministry informed that India's COVID-19 recoveries cross the historic peak of 1.5 million and the infection is now concentrated in 10 States that contribute more than 80 per cent of the new cases.

"India's #COVID19 recoveries cross the historic peak of 1.5 million. Recovery of more than 15 lakh has been made possible because of the policy of TESTING aggressively, TRACKING comprehensively & TREATING efficiently. Better ambulance services, focus on Standard of Care & use of non-invasive oxygen have given desired results," MoHFW tweeted.

"#COVID19 infection still remains concentrated in 10 States that contribute more than 80% of the new cases," the ministry tweeted.
