New Delhi: Senior Congress leader and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) from Gujarat Ahmed Patel has tested positive for Coronavirus infection. The Rajya Sabha MP took to Twitter to inform everyone. He wrote, "I have tested positive for Covid19. I request all those who came in close contact with me recently, to self-isolate".


Patel has requested that those who met him recently self-isolate. As per protocol, these individuals will also be advised to get tested.

Recently, Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia had successfully recovered from Coronavirus disease. He was found to have been infected with dengue along with Covid-19.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,390 new Coronavirus cases and 11 deaths were reported in Gujarat on Wednesday, 1,372 patients had been discharged.

The total number of cases in the state has gone up to 1,37,394. This includes 1,17,231 patients discharged and 3,453 fatalities, as informed by the Gujarat government. The active cases currently stand at 16,710.

Nationwide Coronvirus cases as on October 1 are - Confirmed cases: 63,12,584, Recovered: 52,73,201 (83.5%), Active cases: 9,40,705 (14.9%)
and Deaths at 98,678 (1.6%).
