Covid In India: India's daily Covid fatalities have dropped below 1000 today. The country has registered 46,148 new Covid cases on Sunday , taking the active case tally to 5,72,994.


The country has reported 58,578 recoveries and 979 deaths in the last 24 hours as per the Union Health Ministry.

Maharashtra tightens curbs due to Delta Plus variant


The Maharashtra government has raised concerns over the rising cases of delta plus variants in the state and urged all districts not to relax lockdown norms further. Now the state govt has asked the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Saturday to re-impose the curfew in the city from 5 pm and issued directions to stall all permitted activities by 4 pm from Monday.


In a revised order, Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar said, “The lockdown norms have been issued based on the average positivity rate and percentage of occupancy of oxygen beds…”.


“Prohibitory orders will be in place to prevent more than five people from coming together till 5 pm, while there will be a complete restriction on the free movement of the public after 5 pm except for emergency purposes,” he said, adding that the order will also be applicable to Pune Cantonment Board and Kirkee Cantonment Board areas.


Delhi reopens with unlock 5 guidelines


 The national capital on Sunday reported 89 new Covid-19 cases, staying below 100 cases for the straight second day, while the daily Covid positivity rate remained at 0.12 per cent, according to the health bulletin.

With four more deaths reported on Sunday, Delhi's Covid toll rose to 24,965 since the pandemic started early last year.

During the same time period, 285 people recovered from the disease, taking the national capital's total number of recoveries to 14,07,401 till date. Delhi presently has 1,568 active cases, with the number of patients under home isolation dropping to 478.
