Congress party on Saturday suspended MLA Sandeep Jakhar from Punjab for reportedly engaging in "anti-party activities," news agency ANI reported. Jakhar was charged after Punjab Congress chairman Amrinder Singh Raja Warring submitted a complaint. Sandeep Jakhar, 46, is a first-time MLA from Abohar and the nephew of Sunil Jakhar, the current Punjab BJP president and former state Congress chairman.
The suspension order, dated August 16, and addressed to Sandeep Jakhar, stated as follows: “The President, Punjab PCC has complained that you are indulging in anti-party activities in the following manner.”
