New Delhi: The Congress Party has released its ninth list of candidates for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections, including candidates for Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Shahgunj, Chunar.
The ninth list has names 33 candidates including 15 names of women candidates, sticking to their commitment to giving 40 percent seats to women candidates.

On Monday, the Congress party released its eighth list of 28 candidates for the assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh. Of the 28 assembly seats, 10 seats have been given to women candidates. This is in line with the party's commitment to give 40 per cent seats to women candidates. The party has fielded Ashish Shukla from the Amethi constituency, according to an ANI report.
In Uttar Pradesh, the Congress Party and the All India Congress Committee (AICC) state in-charge Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are emphasizing women.
The party has adopted the "MY" factor comprising of Mahila and youth. Meanwhile, elections to the 403 assembly constituencies in Uttar Pradesh will be held in seven phases which started today The polling in Uttar Pradesh will be held on February 10, 14, 20, 23, 27, and March 3 and 7 in seven phases. The counting of votes will take place on March 10.
Earlier, on Sunday, the Congress party released a list of as many as 30 'Star Campaigners' for the fourth phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. The list includes names of top party leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Sachin Pilot, Mohammed Azharuddin, and others.
