At a time when India has emerged as the global hotspot of Coronavirus with the country's medical infrastructure crumbling due to acute shortage of medical facilities and also impacting the vaccination drive, India Youth Congress President Srinivas BV and a team of SOSIYC extended help to the New Zealand (NZ) high commission in India who appealed on the social micro-blogging site for oxygen cylinders.

SOSIYC is the relief campaign of the Indian Youth Congress during the lockdown. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor was quick enough to express the deplorable situation of the government on the social media platform saying the youth leader of an Opposition party had to solve a problem which the inept government couldn't. However, the tweet to which the Congress leader responded to the New Zealand Commission's request has been deleted on the platform.
