'No One Was There': Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury After Video Of Him Riding Bike Without Helmet Goes Viral

As the video about road safety allegations went viral, the Congress lawmaker stated that he would not mind if the police fined him for violating traffic rules because the route was vacant.

Hands off the steering, no helmet - On Sunday, Congress Lok Sabha leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury was seen riding a motorbike in West Bengal's Berhampore. As the video about road safety allegations went viral, the Congress lawmaker stated that he would not mind if the police fined him for violating traffic rules because the route was vacant, news agency ANI reported. Speaking with media about the allegations, Chowdhury stated: "If the police penalise me then there is no problem, but there were no people at the place where I was riding the bike. And I rode after a long time because I have memories associated with that place."

The Berhampore MP was present for the launching of a Berhampore bypass route. In the footage, the Congress leader is seen driving a Royal Enfield as his retinue rides on motorcycles.

Only a handful of the riders who accompanied Adhir wore helmets, while Adhir wore a hat. He even took his hands off the grips to fix his headgear while smiling and cheering on his ride. Then, as he was speaking, he purposefully removed his hands.

According to accounts, Adhir opted to ride his Royal Enfield for around 11 km to reach the location. Adhir waved to passersby on the side of the road from his motorbike.
