New Delhi: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who is on a  five-day visit to Delhi, is expected to meet Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi in national capital today. The meeting is expected to take place at 4:30pm at Gandhi's residence at 10 Janpath. This will be the first meeting between the two leaders after Banerjee's victory in Bengal assembly elections in May this year.


Besides meeting Congress high command, Mamata's busy itinerary for the day also includes Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, NCP supremo Sharad Pawar and Shiv Sena's Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut. 


On Tuesday, TMC chief met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence to discuss the issue of Covid-19, and need for more vaccines and medicines in the state. 


After meeting the prime minister Mamata Banerjee told reporters that it was a courtesy meeting with the PM. Banerjee also said that PM should call an all-party meeting on the Pegasus issue adding that there should be a Supreme Court-monitored probe in this matter.

'Mission 2024'


Mamata Banerjee said that Opposition unity will take shape on its own," making it obvious that she will leave no stone unturned to build a political front against the BJP.


Before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Mamta Banerjee is preparing to play an important role at the national level. After meeting Mamta Banerjee, Kamal Nath told ABP News, “The strategy for 2024 will be discussed with Sonia Gandhi. Mamata will meet Sonia Gandhi tomorrow morning."


Kamal Nath said that he has old relations with Mamta Banerjee and came to congratulate her. He said that issues like inflation, law and order and suppress-buying politics in the country were discussed with Mamata Banerjee.
