The Minister took to Twitter to share photos of his visit and informed about the status of work underway.
"Very happy to see that most of the work at the airport is almost complete. Arrival & departure halls, check-in facility, conveyor belt, etc have already been installed. The remaining work will be completed before the end of October. Spice Jet has already been awarded this route under RCS-UDAN," - Minister Hardeep Puri wrote.
Informing booking by September end, he stated, "Bookings will start by end September for daily flights from Darbhanga to Delhi, Mumbai & Bengaluru. Flight Operations will begin in the first week of November, before the auspicious festival of Chhath Puja. This a boon for 22 districts of North Bihar".

The Civil Aviation Minister then took to Deoghar where he reviewed the progress of completion and termed it to be "at an advanced stage"
The work will be completed on schedule. I had extensive discussions with MP Shri Nishikant Dubey ji. We have decided to operationalise the airport very soon. We will be taking some key decisions in this regard by next week".
Hardeep Puri also emphasised on the strategic location of the Deoghar airport by stating that apart from providing aviation connectivity to the Santhal region, it is strategically located to provide connectivity to Patna, Kolkata and Bagdogra, and will also be able to serve people from Bhagalpur and Jamui districts of Bihar.
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) is developing these airports. With their operationalisation, air connectivity of the region will be improved, the Civil Aviation Ministry had informed in a statement earlier.
The Deoghar airport in Jharkhand is being developed by the AAI in collaboration with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the state government.
The development of Deoghar airport with a project cost of Rs 401.34 crore and will be completed very soon, the ministry noted.
