New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the annual session of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) said that India will get its growth back. "Yes, we will definitely get our growth back," said PM Modi addressing captains of Indian industry. Prime Minister Modi's focus of address today is on the ways to bring the country back on the path of economic growth. He said that the process of India's growth has begun with phase 1 of unlocking. He also stated that at a time when the world is looking for a trusted, reliable partner, India has the potential, strength and ability for it.

"Re-strengthening economy against Corona is one of our highest priorities, for this, the government has taken immediate decisions. We have also taken decisions which will help the country in the long run," PM said while addressing the industry captains.

Emphasizing that the country will soon have opportunities for the youth he said, " the direction in which the government is moving today, be it our mining sector, energy sector or research and technology, in every field there will be many new opportunities for youth of the country."

Intent, Inclusion, Investment, Infrastructure and Innovation— these five things are important to speed up India's development and make it 'atmanirbhar'. You will get a glimpse of these in the bold decisions recently taken by us, PM asserted.

The address comes after completion of one year into the second term of the Modi-led government at the centre, and at a time when companies and factories are resuming operations with the relaxation of lockdown restrictions

Prime Minister’s inaugural address is taking place via a virtual online meeting on 'Getting Growth Back' .

The CII, which is an industry association in India, works to create and sustain an environment conducive to the development of India, partnering industry, government and civil society, through advisory and consultative processes. It completes  125 years of its journey, this years.

As India, like other countries of the world, grapples at both economic front and healthcare front due to the coronavirus crisis. Against this background, CII's Annual Session 2020 is being organised with the theme 'Getting Growth Back' on June 2.

The session focussed on the rapid changes across multiple dimensions that are sweeping across the world as well as in India and how these would impact the Indian industry. It would work towards evolving strategies for crisis management for the nation and for businesses.

On Monday, Prime Minister addressed jubilee year celebration of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, and focused on the developments made in the healthcare sector in response to Covid-19 crisis. He said that in the ongoing battle between the invisible virus and the invincible corona wariiors, our medical workers are sure to win. He also warned that violence, abuse and rude behaviour against front-line workers is not acceptable.
