Child Pornography Case: DCW Chief Says Responses From Delhi Police, Twitter 'Incomplete & Unsatisfactory'

"Time has been given to them till Sept 30 to file a proper reply," DCW chief Swati Maliwal said.

After receiving notices from the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) regarding child pornography case, officials from Delhi Police and Twitter appeared before the DCW Chief Swati Maliwal on Monday. However, DCW chief stated that the responses from the officials "was found to be incomplete & unsatisfactory."

"Time has been given to them till Sept 30 to file a proper reply," DCW chief Swati Maliwal said.

On September 20, Swati Maliwal on her official Twitter handle wrote: "Thousands of people have shared recordings of young girls being raped. Videos of women bathing are being put through intelligence cameras. These companies follow laws abroad and turn a blind eye to the obscenity and rape of women in India."

Earlier, she stated that she had questioned Twitter about the existence of such videos on the site and the standards in place to check material. Maliwal requested that the Delhi Police file a FIR to identify individuals responsible for shooting and disseminating such films, as well as the victims and the guilty.

"The Chandigarh University incident set me thinking and I asked my team to investigate. We found videos of minor girls on Twitter in which they were seen being raped. Some of the platforms were even selling these videos for 20 to 30. This is horrific," Maliwal had further said.
