The latest order banning public celebrations has come from the Panchkula administration in Haryana, news agency ANI reported. The decision has been taken in congnisance of the Coronavirus spread.
"No Chhath Puja allowed at public places in Panchkula due to Covid-19,": Panchkula Administration announced.
What makes this decision interesting is that it comes as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Delhi has been attacking the Aam Aadmi Party over the public celebrations prohibited in Delhi.
On November 11, the Delhi government issued an order directing all District Magistrates and DDCs of Police and all authorities concerned to ensure that the Chhath Puja celebration in November is not allowed at public places which include river banks and temples in the national capital.

Delhi BJP's Purvanchal Morcha staged a protest march over the ban.
Speaking to ABP News, BJP leader Manoj Tiwari criticised the decision by saying "When weekly markets can open following social distancing norms, people can do their namaaz, temples can reopen.. similarly, Chhat (puja) can happen following the social distancing norms. But no! Chhat is banned. This is their attempt to hide their failures".
Besides Delhi and now Panchkula, the Jharkhand government also made the move to ban Chhath Puja in water bodies and issued a set of guidelines for the day.
This year, the 4-day Chhath puja will be celebrated from November 18 to November 21 as people worship the Sun God and Chhathi Maiya while observing strict rituals for the same.
