Lucknow: Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a junior engineer working for the Uttar Pradesh government and other unknown persons for their alleged involvement in sexual abuse of children in Banda and Chitrakoot districts. ALSO READ | MP: 'Love Jihad' To Be Non-Bailable Offence With 5-Year Jail; Punishment Also For Those Assisting In Crime; What The New Proposal States



The junior employee in question is identified as Rambhawan and is a resident of Chitrakoot district. He has been accused of sexually abusing as many as 50 minors.


His residence was searched and that led to recovery of cash of approximately Rs 8 lakh, mobile phones, laptops, web-camera, a large volume of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and several sex toys.


"The accused allegedly used electronic items and gadgets to lure children falling in the age group of 5-16 years,": CBI informed.


 According to reports, he not just sexually abused minors between the age group of 5 to 16 years but also recorded this vile act and uploaded the videos on 'darknet'. It is a hidden network within the internet that can only be accessed with specific configurations and is used to exchange pornographic content or engage in other illegal activities.





The alleged harasser was arrested from Banda and will likely be produced before the court soon. As per sources, CBI believes that he was not acting alone.




Reportedly, during interrogation, the accused confessed to have bribed the children with mobile phones and other electronic gadgets to ensure they stayed silent about his activities.


As the investigation is underway, more details are awaited.
