Dance, Sweets & Smiles: India Unites In Celebration As Chandrayaan-3 Successfully Lands On Moon. WATCH

As Chandrayaan 3 successfully lands on the moon, social media is buzzing with pride and well-wishes. Take a look at the reactions here.

Chandrayaan 3 Landing: In a heartwarming display of excitement, school children in Surat, Gujarat, danced with joy as they witnessed the successful Chandrayaan-3 lunar mission touchdown, news agency ANI posted a video on X (formerly Twitter). After a 40-day journey from Sathish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, ISRO's Chandrayaan-3 achieved its lunar landing on Wednesday (August 23). With the Vikram lander primed for a gentle touch at 6:04 PM IST, a live stream of the landing, initiated at 5:27 PM IST, was available for viewers.

Washington DC's Indian Embassy witnessed jubilant scenes as sweets are shared to mark the successful touchdown of Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon.

As Chandrayaan 3 accomplishes a secure lunar landing, social media buzzes with pride and well-wishes.  The Chandrayaan-3 itself takes center stage in these reactions. It sent its first message, congratulating India on reaching its destination.  Chandrayaan-3 Mission: 'India, I reached my destination and you too!':Chandrayaan-3, Chandrayaan-3 has successfully soft-landed on the moon!".

"Dream… Explore… Discover! Indian Army congratulates Team ISRO for the successful Lunar Rendezvous, as Vikram soft lands on the Moon!! May Chandrayan-3’s footsteps on the moon ignite a journey of new discoveries and a bright future!" posted the ADG PI - Indian Army.

In Jammu, CRPF jawans celebrate the triumphant landing of ISRO's Chandrayaan-3 by raising 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' slogans, ANI posted the video.

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and BJP MP Manoj Tiwari mark celebrated the landing by cutting cakes. West Bengal BJP leaders organised celebrations to honour the surface touchdown.

The automatic landing sequence was set to begin at 5:44 PM IST, marking a critical phase of the mission. The Vikram lander then used its onboard computers to precisely navigate and land on the lunar surface.

Chandrayaan-3 follows the 2019 Chandrayaan-2 mission, marred by Vikram lander's crash. The mission's core objective is succinct—to exhibit ISRO's capacity for a successful lunar soft landing. A triumphant outcome would place India among an elite group—joining the United States, the Soviet Union, and China—in achieving this remarkable feat.
