The Immigration Department has issued look-out-circulars (LOCs) against four people, including two women, from Punjab days after Singapore High Commissioner to India Simon Wong warned that a vehicle with a fake embassy number plate was spotted at Delhi's IGI airport. The action from the department came after they discovered that the occupant of the car went to the airport to meet the two men and the two women on two separate occasions, as reported by The Indian Express.

Following the action by the authorities, Singapore High Commissioner Simon Wong Wie Kuen expressed gratitude to Delhi Police and the Ministry of External Affairs for "quick actions" days after his warning. 

Sharing a news report of the development, Simon Wong posted on X, "We would like to thank all the authorities @DCPIGI @DelhiPolice @MEAIndia @PIBHomeAffairsfor their quick actions. This is more than meets the eye. HC Wong @DelhiAirport #fakecarplate #Delhi #SafetyFirst".

During investigation, the Delhi Police and the immigration department scanned several CCTVs and found that the car was spotted at the Delhi airport's departure gate on two separate occasions – on November 20 and November 23, a source with intelligence agencies told Indian Express.

The probe found that the two men took a flight to Canada and the women went to the US. "It was found that when the driver met the two women, the car was inside the Airport premises for around two hours," the source told Indian Express.

Last month, Simon Wong shared photographs of a car spotted in the national capital bearing fake diplomatic corps number plates of his country. The Singapore envoy took to X to post several images of a silver-coloured car, saying, "This is NOT our Embassy car."

He also requested people to be "extra careful" when they spot this car parked unattended "especially at the Indira Gandhi International Airport." Wong said that he has alerted the Ministry of External Affairs as well as the police about the matter.

"Alert !!!![?] The car below bearing 63 CD plate is FAKE. This is NOT our Embassy car. We have alerted MEA & the Police. With so many threats around, be extra careful when you see this car parked unattended. Especially at the IGI," posted High Commissioner Simon Wong on X.
