The Border Security Force (BSF) on Saturday shot down five intruders who were trying to infiltrate into the Indian territory from Pakistan side near Dal village of Bhikhiwind sub-division in Punjab’s Tarn Taran district.

The incident took place after troops from BSF's 103th battalion noticed suspicious movement of intruders violating International Border along Tarn Taran at around 5 am in the morning and fired upon the violators in self defence after being initially challenged upon by them.


The encounter eventually led to five intruders being shot dead by the BSF troops.As per latest reports, a massive search operation is underway at the encounter site. The personnel of the BSF have also recovered an AK-series rifle near the body of one of the five deceased.

Earlier on June 20, the Border Security Force (BSF) on Saturday (June 20) shot down a Pakistani drone along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir. According to a ANI report, the drone was shot down in the forward post along the IB in Rathua village in Hiranagar taluka in the Kathua district.
