BJP President JP Nadda To Visit Poll-Bound Nagaland
BJP president JP Nadda will visit poll-bound Nagaland today. During his vist, Nadda will attend a joint rally of the BJP and its ally, the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party. Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will also be present at the rally. Nadda is expected to release the BJP's manifesto for the assembly election at the party's state unit headquarters today.
The BJP and the NDPP are contesting the elections together. While the BJP is fighting the polls on 20 seats, NDPP is contesting 40 seats.
Stay On Mehrauli Demolition Ends Today
The Delhi High Court's stay on the demolition action in Mehrauli will end today as it takes up 10 pleas for hearing on Wednesday.
The Delhi Development Authority on Friday began a demolition drive in the Mehrauli area amid police security. The action is part of DDA's anti encroachment policy. The DDA was using the revenue department's demarcation for the demolition. Revenue Minister Kailash Gahlot had ordered a fresh demarcation exercise in Mehrauli. The minister said the residents of the area cannot be displaced until a fresh demarcation is conducted
The Delhi High Court while hearing the 10 petitions, ordered a status quo on the demolition till Tuesday.
India To Observe Pulwama Attack Memorial Day
India will observe the Pulwama attack's fourth anniversary today. The Jaish-e-Mohammad-orchestrated attack, which took place in 2019, claimed the lives of 40 CRPF jawans.
A suicide bomber targeted the two buses in which forty members of the CRPF were traveling in Jammu and Kashmir. In the Pulwama district of south Kashmir, the buses were part of a larger group of paramilitary vehicles traveling along the highway. JeM released a video shortly after the attack in which they claimed responsibility. The suicide bomber claimed to be Adil Ahmad Dar, a local Kashmiri jihadist who lived in Gundibagh, Kakapora, in the Pulwama district of south Kashmir.
