Delhi To Get Moderate Rain, Thundershowers Today: IMD
After a break of almost a week, the national capital is likely to get moderate rain/thundershowers on Sunday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Saturday. The IMD has predicted a generally cloudy sky with moderate rain/thundershowers. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 33 and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively.
It was a cloudy sky since morning on Saturday and the heat was bearable, definitely better than Thursday and Friday when Delhi-NCR faced high temperatures aggravated by increased humidity. However, there was not even 'trace' rainfall anywhere in Delhi even when thunderstorms were observed in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, west Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Rajasthan.
SL PM Offers To Resign, To Make Way For All-Party Govt
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe on Saturday offered to resign and form an all-party government, hours after thousands of protesters stormed the official residence of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa who appears to have gone underground in the face of massive public anger over an unprecedented economic crisis that has brought Sri Lanka to its knees.
In remarkable scenes, hinting at a society in a meltdown, anti-government protesters were seen occupying a bedroom, sitting on a four poster bed, helping themselves to food in the kitchen and splashing in a swimming pool in Gotabaya's residence.
His whereabouts were unknown and it is believed the 73-year-old leader left the house before the massive mob arrived.
