The Indian Army is coming out with a comprehensive promotion policy which will be implemented from January 1, 2024. The new promotion policy has been prepared in-sync with the ever-evolving operational requirements of the force. As part of this, a comprehensive review of the promotion policy for selection of officers to select ranks of Colonels and above has been finalized. A bus overturned in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday leaving one passenger dead and 22 others, including 14 students, injured, officials said, as reported by news agency PTI. The accident occurred near Radha Soami Ashram in Thandikassi village along the Rajouri-Jammu national highway.
The bus was on its way to Rajouri from Manjakote and hit two cars before overturning, they said. The injured were rushed to the Government Medical College Hospital Rajouri.

At least 25 persons were killed when a passenger bus plunged off a cliff in Antique province in central Philippines, news agency IANS reported, citing local media.
The bus, carrying 53 passengers, was travelling west from Iloilo City to San Jose de Buenavista in Antique province when it crashed into a concrete road barrier before plunging into a ravine shortly before 5 p.m. local time on Tuesday in Hamtic town.

Delhi HC To Hear Plea By Sukesh Chandrasekhar Seeking Quashing Of Money Laundering Case On Wednesday
The Delhi High Court said it will hear on December 6 a plea by alleged conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar seeking quashing of a case lodged against him by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) under the anti-money laundering law in connection with the 2017 Election Commission bribery matter.
Chandrasekhar was alleged to have taken money from former AIADMK leader TTV Dhinakaran in order to secure for the VK Sasikala faction the party's 'two leaves' symbol for contesting a by-poll in Tamil Nadu.
Justice Amit Sharma, before whom the matter came up for hearing, transferred it to the bench dealing with cases involving legislators.
Chandrasekhar sought quashing of the Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) and prosecution complaint (charge sheet) in the money laundering case. He also sought a direction to the trial court to not proceed with the criminal case pending before it.
Over 10 Lakh People Across Country To Be Trained In CPR On Wednesday
More than 10 lakh people will be trained in administering CPR in a single day across the country as part of an awareness programme, officials said on Tuesday.
The programme, which will be held on Wednesday, is being organised by National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS).
In CPR or "cardiopulmonary resuscitation" a special technique is used to press the heart muscles to keep a person alive till proper or institutional medical care is available.
This is the first CPR awareness programme in the country which is being conducted at such a huge level, the officials said.
"During this campaign, more than 10 lakh participants will be given training in a single sitting across the country," an official said.
