Breaking News LIVE, September 3, 2021: Slamming the Narendra Modi government at the Centre, Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera has said all the governments till now worked to build the country except the current NDA government which is "hell-bent on selling everything".
Khera said this while criticising the government over its recently-announced asset monetisation plan, saying the BJP was selling what the Congress and other governments created in 70 years.
"All the governments which came to power in the country till now, including Congress and other parties, worked for the country, to build it. Except the NDA government, which is in power since last seven and a half years, who are bent on selling whatever that the nation built," Khera said in Ahmedabad on Thursday.
Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Thursday wrote to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee "to intervene and ensure justice to Congress workers who are victims of violence and atrocities committed by the ruling party's workers".
Chowdhury in his letter wrote, "I do like to flag your kind attention to the violence and atrocities committed by the ruling party's workers in a broad daylight today when houses of Congress party workers vandalised and looted much to the concerned of us."
As for the situation in Afghanistan, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said on Thursday that the US mission in Afghanistan over the past two decades "was not simply a failure, but a catastrophe".
The problems of terrorism, drug trafficking and low living standards were not resolved but even exacerbated, Zakharova said during her weekly briefing, news agency IANS reported.
"The final chord of the international coalition's military presence was the death of civilians as a result of an American drone strike," she said, adding that Russia strongly condemns such "indiscriminate use of force".

Supreme Court puts interim stay on Kerala government's decision to hold Class 11 exam physically from September 6th, amid rising cases of COVID-19 in the state. Next hearing on September 13th, news agency ANI reported.
Supreme Court said that the situation in Kerala is alarming because of continuing rise in COVID-19 cases and children of tender age can't be exposed to risk as around 35,000 cases are being reported daily from the state.
