Miscreant Held For Assault, Molestation Of Schoolgirl In Bihar's Samastipur

Samastipur police arrested a miscreant on the charges of assaulting and molesting a schoolgirl on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred at a village under Musrigharari police station on Tuesday, an official said, as reported by the news agency IANS.


Three miscreants misbehaved and passed lewd comments at a student while she was returning home from school. When the girl objected to the eve-teasing they assaulted her. The student reached home and told her mother about the incident. When the mother and daughter went to the house of the accused to confront them, they again beat the victim in front of her mother.


The mother tried to save her daughter but failed as she was overpowered by the accused.

4 Killed, 2 Injured In SUV-Truck Collision In Mandla District Of MP

Four persons were killed and two others injured after a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) they were travelling in collided with a truck in the Mandla district of Madhya Pradesh in the wee hours of Wednesday, police said, as reported by the news agency PTI. The incident occurred on the National Highway-30 near Barkheda village, some 40 kilometres from the district headquarters, around 1 am, an official said.


"An SUV collided with a speeding truck, which was carrying iron rods and coming from the opposite direction," Bichhiya police station in-charge Dharmendra Singh Dhurve said.


Six persons were travelling in the SUV, of whom four were killed on the spot while two others suffered injuries, he said. Three women and the driver of the SUV died in the incident, Dhurve said, adding that the injured are being treated at the district hospital in Mandla.

Mumbai Man Allegedly Rapes 8-Year-Old Girl In Jogeshwari Area, Held

An 8-year-old girl was allegedly raped in Mumbai’s Jogeshwari area. The accused is a 53-year-old man. According to the Mumbai Police, the accused and the victim lived in the same building, and the girl’s mother used to leave the child at the accused’s home while going to work as there was nobody at home to take care of her, as per the news agency ANI.


"A few days ago, the girl narrated the incident to her mother and her mother lodged a complaint at the Police station. Case registered under Section 376 of IPC and POCSO Act and accused was arrested," the police further stated.

Man Tied To Pole, Beaten To Death In Delhi

A 26-year-old man was tied to a pole and beaten to death in northeast Delhi by some boys after they suspected him to be a thief, a police official said on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Isar, a resident of Sunder Nagri.


According to police, a call was received on Tuesday at 10:46 p.m in which Abdul Wajid, who is a fruit seller, stated that when he reached home at about 6:30 p.m., he saw his son Isar, lying outside the house, as reported by the news agency IANS.


"There were injury marks all over Isar's body and he was in pain. Isar told him that on Tuesday at about 5 a.m in the morning, some boys had caught him near G4 Block, Sunder Nagri. They thought that he was a thief and had tied him to a pole," said the Deputy Commissioner of Police (northeast) Joy Tirkey, as quoted by the news agency IANS.

PM Modi To Unveil Over Rs 4,505 Crore Development Projects In Gujarat Today


Prime Minister Modi will visit Gujarat on September 27 and will inaugurate multiple development projects amounting to Rs 5,206 crore in the Chhota Udepur district.


Modi will also unveil development initiatives worth at Rs 4,505 crore under the Mission Schools of Excellence, encompassing various sectors including roads and buildings, urban development, science and technology, and water supply.


This comprehensive initiative includes the launch of projects worth Rs 1,426 crore and the completion of projects worth Rs 3,079 crore. The key highlights encompass the establishment of 9,088 new classrooms, deployment of 50,300 smart classrooms, creation of 19,600 computer labs, modernisation of 12,622 classrooms, and enhancement of associated facilities.


President Murmu To Visit Madhya Pradesh Today

Students' Killing: CBI Team Led By Special Director To Reach Imphal Today


 A team of CBI officials, led by the agency's Special Director Ajay Bhatnagar, will reach Imphal in a special flight on Wednesday to investigate the kidnapping and killing of two students who went missing in the northeastern state on July 6, sources said. The decision was taken within hours of the case being handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) by the Manipur government. The team of officials under Bhatnagar, the second-in-command in the federal agency, will also have Joint Director Ghanshyam Upadhyay, who is camping in Imphal, the sources said.


The team will comprise officers who have expertise in special crime, crime scene recreation, interrogation and technical surveillance. It will also have experts from the CBI's elite Central Forensic Science Laboratory, the sources said.
